Circulation and Organisation
The design of the office takes into account the varying needs of different teams and people within modern work environments. Differences in privacy and layout maximize productivity and communication through the use of modular spaces. Following findings from the paper “The impact of the ‘open’ work-space on human collaboration’ by Ethan S. Bernstein and Stephen Turban, a completely open work-space was found to decrease face to face communication by up to 70%. With this in mind, 67 Edward Street aims to propose a new layout which accommodates for many uses and work practices - A new landscape of the office which incorporates nature and technology.
Reception
The reception area of the bank aims to create an open and flowing dynamic between workers and the public. The curved walls of the design center around the atrium void, lift and stairs.
Staff AREA
The meeting and staff areas are positioned together so that larger meetings can take up the whole of the first floor.
Hallway and Access
The design of the office incorporates a large central atrium which allows for each room to be naturally lit.
